What a difference a day makes

This was us on Sunday- eating lunch in the sun, watching the kids play at the W hotel’s awesome mountain beach and generally enjoying the absolute shit out of a perfect day. Today, however, it is cold, it is raining and my Facebook page is filled with pictures of the ‘snow line getting closer’… I’m having mixed emotions.

Tomatoes galore = dinner in a snap!

What to do with a bag of garden fresh tomatoes dropped of by a friend- turn it into this super simple, but delicious tomato tart dinner.

All you need are- tomatoes, a store bought crust, cheese ( I used a bag of gruyere) oregano, and basil.

Cook crust on it’s own until golden brown, then spread cheese on top of the crust and top with tomatoes, sprinkle tomatoes with oregano, basil, salt and pepper to taste and put back in the oven. Cook on around 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until tomatoes are soft and roasted and cheese is melted.  Dinner is served!

Walking in the Alps

Yesterday 10 girls went on an adventure in the Swiss Alps… we hiked for 5 hours through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Fresh Fall mountain air, marmots, sheep, mountain goats, suspension bridges, glaciers, clean cold mountain streams, ups and downs, twists and turns and some seriously tired legs! Somehow, feeling so small in these ancient, grand and gorgeous mountains invites a most refreshing percpective. I am only a minute moment in time, only a visitor, a guest…this world- these mountains have seen so much more than I could ever imagine and you realize in that moment of clarity just how insignificant everything else is and how lucky you are to share a moment with a mountain.
