Bird Sanctuary

DSC_0307

A cloudy afternoon spent at the Bird Sanctuary on Long Boat Key. What a  wonderful place with a meaningful message for the kids about nature, love, compassion, kindness and being environmentally conscious.

Rescue, heal, release and if the birds injuries are too severe they have a forever home at the sanctuary…DSC_0302

Like this gorgeous guy- whose wing was too severely injured, by a car, to be released back into the wild. He will now be cared for by the sanctuary for the rest of his life.DSC_0336

We also saw this whacky ass mama bird…. they can’t fix crazy so she’ll be released back into the wild shortly.

Happy Fourth of July weekend

‘MERICA BABY! That’s right,  we’re celebrating in style! Ripped up jeans, sleeveless American Flag shirts, red cowgirl boots, daisy dukes, pig tails and a baby on your hip…  Livin’ the dream.

To watch the fire works we took the kids to a friends penthouse in downtown Sarasota.  We didn’t have to battle the crowds and we had incredible views. Viola didn’t blink, Harlow giggled with excitement throughout while repeating her 4 year old 4th of July mantra- “Boom fire, boomboom fire, boom, fire”

Happy Birthday America!
